The Tennyson Homeowners Association has a plan for the future. The Tennyson 2020 Plan is the result of three years’ effort by many Tennyson residents to develop a plan for future Board members and community management to use in planning and executing community-funded projects over the next fifteen to twenty years.

Based on the recommendations of the special Vision Committee, the Board has developed and officially adopted the Tennyson 2020 Plan.

The Vision Statement of that plan states:

The Tennyson Community will be set in a well-kept, informal, park-like surrounding. Each home will have a view of nature. The buildings will retain a fresh, clean, uncluttered, uniform Contemporary-Transitional architectural style. Innovations in building materials, landscaping design, and common area features will be used whenever they will serve to improve the enjoyment of the community and the value of its properties. A sense of neighborhood will be encouraged through social events, clubs, and community interaction. The Community Manager’s response to residents’ maintenance concerns will be timely and well-defined. The Board of Trustees will seek to achieve optimum value in community projects and contractor services. News of management projects, Board proceedings, and community events will be communicated through a community website and periodic newsletters. Community Covenants and Policies will be enforced to protect the values of the community’s homeowners’ investments and to maintain their enjoyment of Tennyson.

The Tennyson 2020 Plan Vision Statement brings no major changes to the community’s direction. There will be no costly projects to build new features into the community. The plan directs the Board to continue to maintain the developer’s original intent, to maintain and improve the appearance of the community as it was when its homeowners first decided to invest in Tennyson. The plan’s objective is to focus on polishing Tennyson until it shines even brighter, to improve the feeling of community, improve communication, and to obtain a high value for Tennyson’s residents.

Having a good plan is vitally important to Tennyson. A good plan provides the basis for making good budget decisions. The Tennyson 2020 Plan promises a steady course into the future.
