Adopted October 26, 2010
The retention pond between Gareth Lane and Lord Alfred Court is a man-made body of water designed to act as a flood control device. Because it is not natural, it must be carefully maintained to keep it in an ecologically healthy and attractive condition. The pond is maintained by technicians experienced in the use of chemicals, which are used to inhibit the accumulation of weeds, algae, animal wastes and insect pests. In addition to its flood control aspect, the pond is designed to be visually appealing to residents who reside adjacent to the pond as well as those utilizing the walking path. It is not designed to serve as a recreational feature of the community. Therefore, it is the Policy of the Tennyson Homeowner's Association that use of the pond for fishing, swimming, boating or ice skating is hereby prohibited. Homeowners wishing to engage in fishing or boating are advised to make use of the 35-acre Sharon Woods Lake adjacent to Tennyson. Violation of this policy could result in a fine of up to $50 per occurrence. |
